What does the day look like?
Your shift starts in the queue. 60% to 70% of time goes to routine tickets in Zendesk Support, Jira Service Management, ServiceNow or Freshdesk: resetting passwords, clearing MFA tokens, granting drive access in Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, Okta or Google Workspace Admin Console, guiding users through cache purges, OS updates, VPN errors and software installs. 15% to 20% goes to escalation: collecting OS build, browser version, HAR logs, console errors and screenshots, reproducing the issue in staging, then writing a ticket for Tier 2. 10% to 15% goes to updating runbooks in Confluence or Notion and joining handover meetings. The work is 90% repeated communication, canned responses and ticket metadata, with complex analysis capped at 10%. SaaS runs 24/7, so you work 8-hour rotating shifts across morning, evening, night and weekends, with permanent nights common in global teams. Contact runs over Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Aircall, Talkdesk and Genesys Cloud, remote access over TeamViewer, AnyDesk, Microsoft Quick Assist and Chrome Remote Desktop.
